Do you want to be on the podcast? Awesome! I would love to help you tell your story on The CanSurvivor Podcast!

Please note that as of 10.07.2018, the format has been expanded to video!

Video is a MUST, as well as a good microphone. To be on the podcast, we ask that you use a dedicated microphone along with headphones for the best audio quality. While a laptop microphone or the microphone on a cell phone works, using a microphone specifically designed for recording use will help your story come through crystal clear! Using headphones will help prevent feedback (that nasty screeching sound when a microphone gets too close to a speaker.) While any mic designed for professional recording will work, we recommend one of the following options:

Option 1: Turtle Beach Ear Force Recon Gaming Headset

This headphone/microphone combo will work with most phones that have a headphone jack, and will also work with most laptops that have a single headphone jack (i.e. most MacBooks.)  For newer iPhones without a headphone port, you can use these headphones in conjunction with this adapter.

Option 2: Blue Snowball iCE Condenser Microphone

This microphone can be used with any computer, but since it can pick up more audio than Option 1, it’s best to use this microphone in a quiet environment with minimal background noise. With this option, you will need to connect a set of headphones to your laptop’s headphone jack.

Option 3: Blue Yeti USB Microphone with Pop Filter

If you plan on being a guest multiple times, or you want to venture into the world of podcasting, this is a good microphone to start out with. It can be used to record just yourself, you and a guest sitting across from you, or multiple people around a table. The pop filter helps quiet that “puh” sound whenever you say words containing a “P” (like “power”, “impact”, and “exposure”.) As with option 2, you’ll want to be in a quiet environment with minimal background noise. An added bonus – headphones can be plugged directly into the microphone, so you can hear the person you’re talking to, as well as yourself.
